Priorities
It's with the right priorities and focus, such as ones that put students, teachers, and staff first, that we can work together to champion for progress in the Osceola School District. Learn more about Heather's campaign priorities below.
My Campaign Priorities
Successful Students
Providing a quality education
The number one goal of our district should always be ensuring a rigorous education for our students. Students first, always.
The district’s current strategic plan focuses on ensuring high-quality, equitable, standards-based instruction.
Unfortunately, for some, the word equity is looked upon negatively. Equity isn’t about making things easier for our subgroups, but ensuring each and every student in our district has what he or she needs to be successful.
As a parent of a child with a learning disability, I understand firsthand that some students need additional resources to achieve success and reach their goals. I want to work to ensure these students, and all students, graduate from our district ready to contribute to our community.
Valued Educators
Prioritizing funds and resources for educators
As a former educator, I know firsthand the difference high performing educators can make in the success of our students, our schools, and our community. Ensuring our dedicated and high performing staff are adequately compensated for their work is a priority.
Fostering a positive work environment and growing our workforce
I want to expand our listening sessions in order to hear the needs of teachers and staff and work to attract new teachers through the Future Teachers Academy. As a product of our school district myself, this program excites me in attracting our own students and preparing them as future educators in Osceola.
Safe and Robust Schools
Keeping SROs on our campuses
The safety of students and staff is currently a top priority and should remain one. I want to continue to support and build on our partnerships with our local law enforcement agencies to ensure we have SROs on every district-managed campus.
Ensuring funding for quality education
With the district’s strategic plan being its guiding force, we need to ensure we have the funding necessary to reach these goals. Being fiscally responsible with the taxpayer dollars we're entrusted while also focusing on the resources needed outlined in this plan ensures we are spending every dollar wisely.

Heather has shown a dedicated passion for education since before even becoming a teacher. While she no longer serves as an educator, her heart has always been in supporting the school district, students, teachers, and staff. It's evident in all she's done over the last number of years to support education and the community.
